There are many daily national services, with frequent flights to Auckland ( just one hour flight time from Wellington) whose airport is serviced by approximately 19 international airlines from Europe, North America, Australia and Asia. Direct international flights from Australia to Wellington are offered by Air New Zealand, Qantas Airways and Virgin Australia.

Wellington International Airport is located only 10 km from the central city (approximately 15 minutes drive). Airfares are very competitive and direct international flights to Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane are available from several airlines. Air New Zealand and Jetstar also use Wellington as the national hub of their domestic networks and operate regular connecting flights to and from Auckland, Christchurch and popular regional destinations. Auckland is just a 60 minute flight away and the South Island’s international airport, Christchurch, only 45 minutes.
